Following a successful debut, Barrow’s walking festival is back for 2026, with Walk This Way returning for a second year of celebrating walking in all its forms.
Thousands of primary aged children in Cumbria are set to benefit from a National Cycle Training programme thanks to funding from Active Travel England.
Children at primary schools across Westmorland and Furness have been walking, wheeling and cycling to school this week – for the Active Travel Feet First challenge.
Funding has been secured to improve pedestrian access to the town centre from a popular residential area of Penrith and make safety improvements to a well-known double mini-roundabout junction at the top of Sandgate/bottom of Fell Lane.
