Walk this way returns to Barrow this summer!
Following a successful debut, Barrow’s walking festival is back for 2026, with Walk This Way returning for a second year of celebrating walking in all its forms.
Organised by Active Cumbria’s Travel Actively Barrow Team, the festival once again invites the whole community to lace up their shoes and explore Barrow, with an expanded and engaging programme of free themed walks. Building on the momentum of last year, Walk This Way brings together local groups, organisations and residents for another week of movement, discovery and connection.
Taking place from 20 to 26 July 2026, everyone is encouraged to get involved - from regular walkers to those who prefer a gentle stroll, or anyone simply looking for fresh air and good company.
From coastal walks and historical trails to family-friendly treasure trails and themed strolls, the 2026 programme offers something for everyone, whatever their pace, experience or motivation. Participants can expect opportunities to learn, connect, chat and explore Barrow in an enjoyable and accessible way. A great way to kick start your active travel habits!
